Georgia runs on clubs, not solo leases
More Georgia hunting access is sold as a club membership than as a whole-tract lease. A club leases the land — very often from a timber company — and then sells spots to its members. What you compare as a hunter is annual dues, how many members share the acreage, and the club's rules on buck restrictions, guests, and stand placement.
That structure means the thing to evaluate is the club, not just the land. How long has it held the lease? How many members across how many acres? Is there a waiting list? A well-run club on average ground beats a loose one on great ground almost every time.
The season, and when spots open
Georgia has one of the longer deer seasons in the country, with archery from early September and firearms running from October deep into January in the southern zone. Spots turn over right after it closes — January and February are when members decide whether they're renewing, and when openings get posted.
Spring turkey is the second season worth planning around. Georgia holds strong Eastern populations, and many clubs sell turkey-only access in March and April to hunters who don't want a full year.
